(Photo: Laura Vuoma) Marko Portin Suomeksi - In Finnish Born 1970 Clarinettist, composer Marko Portin is a versatile musician. He graduated from the Helsinki Conservatory in 1997 and received his diploma at the Sibelius Academy with highest possible grades in 2001. A pupil of Harri Mäki, Heikki Nikula and Kullervo Kojo, Portin works in a wide field of music. He was the saxophonist in the chart-topping pop group Ultra Bra and has performed with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Zagros Ensemble, Avanti!, the Finnish National Opera and a few other orchestras. Portin has been a regular member in the Uusinta since 1999. In recent years he has become known as a composer, also in Uusinta's concerts. Contact: Marko Portin
